Cold Hands, Warm Heart

I love the month December. It has everything, lights, trees, glitter and sometimes even snow (Sadly not this year yet, but I live in hope!). It also gives me the opportunity to take lovely photos of my girls, this is DD2 decorating her tree. The whimsical yet concentrated look on her face as she adds snowflakes and birds to her tree. Sigh. Priceless!

Snow, snow, snow

Now last year we had snow around Sinterklaas, so why not this time? Why are we having temperatures that are too high (and why didn't we have that in the summer?) and rain, loads and loads of rain. C&S in digiscrapbookland stands for Clean & Simple. Those beautiful pages with one gorgeous photo not taking up more than an eight of the page and a few strategically placed elements. I love to look at them and sigh, but I cannot make them. They make me so nervous as they always seem to be unfinished when I try that type. So I don't. I have my own type which is somewhere between Art and C&S, using masks and brushwork and preferably bright colors. We don't celebrate Halloween in this country, but with all the international contacts we are getting into the swing of things. Sigh, it's like week 27 now. How did I get so far behind? I was planning on catching up now I have a few days of work, but something tells me the girls are going to keep me busy...

It was a wonderful week: we went to Disney! We had a wonderful time for those magical days. Then we did some stuff around the house and watched our garden bloom.

Anaconda

Sometimes you get to scrap the weird photos, or the photos that freak you out but they have a good story. This one freaks me out a bit, I don't like snakes and this one at the Blijdorp zoo was big. So big. I preferred to skip the part where he lived (or she, I never found out), even though he or she was behind thick glass and usually slept. But my eldest DD loved it. I blame the tv show Diego, where there was Ana the anaconda, who needed help and who was nice.

So what do you do: convince your kid snakes aren't nice or tough it out and take her to see it? I did the latter, till one day the glass tank was empty. Ana the anaconda was no more.
